Rheumatologist #2
The internist mentioned previously was convinced I needed to see another rheumatologist, apparently he didn’t trust the first one (or his own diagnosis that it wasn’t arthritis). I waited awhile. I was working with a teacher’s salary and our insurance wasn’t the best. This is where the desperation of getting some answers sets in. You will do anything to find someone to tell you you’re not crazy. You think that if someone can put a name to it, then you can begin treatment. No luck with this new and improved rheumatologist. So I stopped trying for awhile. Lack of money and patience took over. I probably waited a year before seeking any other help and spent a lot of sleepless, frustrating nights wondering what was wrong with my body. I learned a new trick though, wrapping my feet with ace bandages helped a little, sometimes, when it wasn’t raining!
