Internist….he sounds like he should know what he is doing….right?

My next stop on the tour of doctors here in Central Ohio was to see an internist. He initially wanted to rule out Lupus. I had no idea what Lupus was and went to the library to do a little research…yes, the library. I used books and everything! Amazing what it took to research 15 years ago! So, that freaked me out a bit and I had a few nervous weeks, but then it came back negative. And, by the way, you don’t have arthritis or Lyme disease. Gee thanks! (for some background on the connections between lupus, lyme disease and fibromyalgia checkĀ here)

Next stop, a pain clinic. Oh my gosh, the worst experience of my life. They shot my wrists up with cortisone shots and I cried the whole way to work as I tried to drive my stick shift. Didn’t help, never went back.

This probably takes me about 4 years into my battle with the pain. The sleeplessness was now really starting to get to me. I had now been married for about a year. I spent so many nights on the couch, that we bought a new one so I would be more comfortable. Sad, I know.
