I have been struggling with some neck and shoulder pain, and at its worse I can not turn my head from side to side. I came on all of a sudden after a one day battle with some neck pain. It is mostly between my shoulder blades. I am trying to stretch a couple of times a day, but it is still bothering me, it has been almost two weeks. I have been working late hours these past few weeks, and although the stress is not good for my pain, I am finding that I am so darn tired come bedtime, that I fall asleep rather easily. I have been using a small mouth guard the last few weeks that is taking some getting used to. I cracked one of my veneers and the dentist felt it was from clenching my teeth. As I take notice now, I catch myself doing it throughout the day. I am hoping it helps my headaches! So, stress is bad for pain….working long nights is good for sleep! It will catch up with me soon though and I fear I am in for a flare-up or at least some serious mood swings!

It is now about 1996 and I had been dealing with the pain and sleeplessness for about 5 years. At some point along the line, I’m not sure with which doctor, I brought in an article on fibromyalgia. (more…)
The internist mentioned previously was convinced I needed to see another rheumatologist, apparently he didn’t trust the first one (or his own diagnosis that it wasn’t arthritis). (more…)

I have been dealing with the symptoms of fibromyalgia for almost 17 years. It started with an odd feeling in my feet when I was a senior in college, May 1991. It felt like my feet itched. Looking back, I realize it was the tingling sensation that fibro patients often feel in their extremities. (more…)
